A lewd and ludicrous assemblage of seven hard-core porn movies unaccountably given an 18 certificate by the BBFC, who on this evidence have simply given up. |

| Lowlights include Matthew Barney’s Hoist, about a man attempting to copulate with a 50-foot truck while an impressively large root vegetable protrudes from his derriere. The intolerably fey and pretentious Sam Taylor Wood will win no new admirers with Death Valley (pictured), an excruciatingly long, static shot of a man pleasuring himself for eight interminable minutes in the aforementioned location. The most unwatchable segment, however, is Gaspar Noe’s We Fuck Alone, a nihilistic, strobing, headache-inducing portrait of an ugly Frenchman making love to an inflatable sex doll, while a young girl in pigtails rubs her private parts against a teddy bear. | | As you will gather from the above, the floodgates of taste, decency and common sense have now broken down altogether. I can only hope that audiences stay away and condemn this torrent of detritus to the oblivion it deserves. | | The only conceivable value that any of these films has is as an awful record to later generations of a culture apparently bent on committing suicide. | |
