The Terminator meets kung fu movies, and the result is an uninspired mess - poorly acted, slow and very cheaply produced.

MIXED

Not great but it should keep sci-fi and Van Damme fans happy.

(Derek Winnert, Radio Times Film and Video Guide, 1995)

ANTI

Pyun's lethargic direction seems intended to destroy what is left of his reputation and Michael Winner films look good by comparison; he succeeds on both counts. A bad, boring movie - and not even a funny one.

(Trevor Willsmer, Film Review)

Rather repulsive post-apocalyptic fantasy, with a foolish plot and worse dialogue.

(John Elliot, Elliot's Guide to Films on Video, 1993)

Charmless cliche-packed action movie, carrying the explicit message that violence is good for you.

(Halliwell's Film Guide, 2004)

A study in bad. Bad script. Bad acting. Bad directing. Bad special effects.

(Nick Martin & Marsha Porter, Video Movie Guide, 1998)

Even by the low standards of post-apocalyptic trash movies, this plumbs new depths. Repulsive.

(Leonard Maltin, Maltin's Movie & Video Guide, 2004)
