| | Mildly engaging, unpretentious, low-brow road/ chase movie which showed the lighter side of Clint Eastwood, though it could have done with a more coherent plot and funnier jokes. Hated by critics, who noticed that it was an attempt to cash in on the success of the Burt Reynolds movie Smokey and the Bandit, but loved by the public. The sequel Any Which Way You Can (1980) was much worse. | | |
