Not a great film musical, and the central plot is eminently forgettable; but it deserves a place in screen history for its ridiculous airborne finale, naive period charm, wonderful art deco sets, and (best of all) Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers (pictured) dancing together for the first time. If you've ever wondered what star quality is, just watch these two perform everyone else off the screen.
