Two homosexuals (Farley Granger, John Dall) murder a college friend, then hold a party with his body still in a trunk. Their ex-professor (James Stewart) suspects something is wrong... |

| Based on the real-life Loeb-Leopold case, this has historical interest as Hichcock's first colour film, and his mastery of camera movement is manifest, as is his ability to manipulate the audience. However, his self-imposed discipline of using long takes makes this the most visually monotonous of all his films. The situation does generate some suspense, and the performances by Granger and Dall are fine, but Stewart is not on his best form. | |
