The Breed is a barrel-scraping horror movie in which bad actors in their late 20s or early 30s pretend to be college students travelling to a remote island for a holiday. The five thoroughly dislikeable young – well, youngish - people are mutilated and slaughtered by wild attack dogs, not nearly fast enough.

This woeful effort from first-time director Nicholas Mastandrea contains not one moment of realism or originality. Plot holes loom large, and some of the supposedly wild dogs are awfully well groomed. Best in Show was more frightening.
