Ghost film gets lost in translation.

The only reason I remember the otherwise routine Thai horror flick Shutter (2004) is that one of its writers had the splendid name of Parkpoom Wongpoom.

The 2008 Hollywood remake, complete with Z-list actors from the nether regions of American television, is unimaginative, tedious and scare-free.

Like Lost In Translation, itís about Americans in Tokyo, but really itís just another uninspired rip-off of the two superior movies in this genre, Ringu and The Grudge. And surely itís time to call a moratorium on pale, long-haired, female ghosts. Theyíre just not frightening any more.
